Allgäu-Update fall/winter 2009

General changes

In autumn 2009 in the Allgäu area the motorway A7 from Kempten to Füssen and the new 4-lane B19 from Waltenhofen to Sonthofen have been finished. Therefore it could happen that there are slight changes to some getting theres described in the bouldering guidebook "Allgäu-Block" or there are faster ways to get to some crags now.

One change is in the description for the area "Rottach". Instead of turning left to Martinszell you have to take the exit Martinszell/Oberdorf, then continue to Martinszell.

New walls

Hidden Valley

Above the "Oberen Maiselwände" there was hidden an excellent wall which was found and developed by Harald Röker beginning of 2009.

Here can be found about 20 boulder problems at present in the grades Fb 4a to Fb 8a.

Jesus-Wandl

At the Jesuswandl (see Online Allgäu-Update-Topo on the climbing-pages) are numerous super hard climbing routes to be found, but on the base of the cliff Christian Bindhammer and Harald Röker developed also some nice boulder problems in the grades Fb 5b to Fb 8a.
